2020 Shoalhaven Professional Snapshot

Thank you to all the businesses who where involved in this year’s Professional Snapshot program.

The Shoalhaven Professional Business Association (spba) closely collaborated with Shoalhaven City Council Economic Development to deliver this year’s Professional Snapshot to students in Nowra, and for the first time this year, to students in Ulladulla as well. This would not be possible without the support of the University of Wollongong Shoalhaven Campus, local Businesses and High Schools.

The Program is now in its eleventh year and consists of local businesses opening their doors and offering students practical workshops. This ensures students get a real taste of what a career in the Shoalhaven can offer.

The President of spba Anna Finch outlines that the purpose of the program is to educate high school students on the many professional career opportunities that are available to them, right here in the Shoalhaven.

‘The spba Professional Snapshot is aimed at high school students in Years 10/11 and timed just before subject selection, assisting them to make an informed choice.'

‘Business representatives are encouraged to share their real-life experiences and to give an honest representation of what professional life is like in the Shoalhaven, as well as detailing practical information on how to obtain employment and the necessary study required.’

‘We are proud to be offering such an innovative program, which supports future young professionals make educated decisions about their careers’.
